The particular serial I'm looking for is 354XX, Ejercito markings, but I'd really like to find the original list, plus that would make it easier for THR members to find that list in the future. If the original compiler wouldn't mind, it'd be great if I could get it posted on this thread.

- The answer is not perhaps as obvious as it is with things made in USA and collected in USA, say Colt, SW, Ruger, Winchester, Remington. With those, the various collector communities have seen to it that there are widely published date to serial lists.
- My Colt's book says production of the COLT 1911A1 started the year (1944) at serial number 1609529 and started the next year (1945) at serial number 2244804. Value-wise I'd think this pistol, being in at least 95% (or better) original condition would sell for more than $1000 to the right buyer.

Colt Model 1878 were manufactured in the following caliber's : 22, 32, 32-20, 38 COLT, 38-40, 44 Russian, 44-40 Frontier, 45 Colt , 450 Boxer, 455 Enfield, 476 Enfield .
Last serial number produced: 51210
There were 280 , 1878's in all caliber's engraved by Colt and 33 that were shipped in the white to Hartley and Graham to be engraved by other engravers .
There were 13 revolvers shipped as clean up in 1907.
There were 30 guns shipped to the Atlantic Georgia police department and are so marked on the back strap.
The largest shipment of engraved guns was shipped to E.C. Simmons Hardware in St Louis Missouri.
